Welcome to my photography blog, Picture Day. Here you will find an eclectic mix of photos from landscapes and macros to anything Disney. I began my journey in photography in the summer of 2011 with the desire to create better images of my trips to Walt Disney World. Those initial steps were the beginning of an obsession that is a very satisfying addition to my world.
I never dreamed that my desire to know more about my old point & shoot camera would lead to an activity that I enjoy so completely, even as I fumble through learning about exposure, composition, equipment and software. It has become a creative outlet for a technical ‘geek’ who thought his best creative moments were writing code and solving manufacturing problems.
This is the third blog/website I have created to help me record my journey/growth as a photographer. I do not have a specific topic or style so the posts will be random. I hope that as this site grows you will see improvements in both my photography and my writing.
“The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ‘Eureka!’, but ‘That’s funny…'” – Isaac Asimov
“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney
“Photography is a voyage of discovery.” – Jay Dickman, National Geographic Photographer
Love your photography; reminds me of mine! 🙂
Thanks! You’ll find a little of everything here… 🙂

Thanks Dawn! Yeah, I do have a ‘thing’ for those reflections. 🙂 I’m glad you like them.
An award for you Mike 🙂
Thanks so much Jocelyne! I have been meaning to pass this award along but have been having trouble figuring out the best way to do so.
I know what you mean, but you know, it’s not an obligation. 🙂
But this award is about our online family and there are quite a few people (yourself included) who I have enjoyed interacting with over the 1+ years and who I consider my online family. Just need to break out the time and do this proper… 🙂
I just discovered your blog! I know I’m going to enjoy it as I just got my first DSLR camera (Nikon D3200 w/18-55 and 55-200 lenses) for Christmas and don’t know much at all about the various features. I’m very interested in checking out your entries with the hope that your journey will help pave the way for mine! 🙂
Welcome! I’m not sure how much help my entries will be as I don’t always provide details for every image although each image does have the camera/lens info. If you do have any questions please feel free to leave a comment and I will answer as best as I can.
Great pics Mike 🙂
Thanks! I’m glad you like them. I just have a lot of fun going out with the camera. I post what I like and it amazes me that others like them as well.
