Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths” – Walt Disney

Forward – this is the Weekly Photo Challenge over on The Daily Post. To me, the start of every day is the point where you put that next foot forward on your journey.

Birch in Corn Field

I drive past this tree everyday to and from work. I have been waiting for the sunset light to get back high enough in the sky as I leave work to allow me to stop and grab this image. Yesterday the sun and clouds worked together. I had the light I wanted as well as a slightly clouded blue sky.

The continuing saga that is my Monochrome Winter series…

Finally, the Zoo…

I finally managed to finish processing the images from my trip last month to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY. A few of these have already made their way into blog posts but I wanted to include them here so everyone can enjoy the whole group. I managed to accumulate quite a few more images than I showcase here but these are my best from that day. Next time I will try using a circular polarizer to reduce any glare on the glass.

Anyone in the central NY area that is interested in visiting the zoo can check out all it has to offer here: Rosamond Gifford Zoo. I was very impressed with the zoo and will definitely be making additional trips out to visit. Maybe I’ll wait for spring so I can get some better outside images…

Industrial

This week over at A Word in Your Ear the Word a Week Challenge is all about industrial images. You can check out the original post here AWAWC: Industrial. My intent was to get out and capture a few new images but once again work and the weather have made that a challenge unto itself. Hopefully, a recycling of a few images from July 2012 will not offend anyone.

I had been driving past each of these buildings/structures for years and when I caught the photography fever I always wanted to capture them in the early morning light. I was fortunate enough one morning in July to get the sunrise I was looking for and the time to visit each location. I was very happy with how each image turned out and have been keeping my eye open for additional subjects, but surprisingly it isn’t as easy as I thought. I keep looking though…

The Bird Feeder

The weather while I was at my Dad’s house was not very conducive to photography. I captured the first image early one morning before the wind started to kick up and cause everyone to run for the house. The second two images I captured from the warmth of the kitchen through the window. The slight dullness is due to the window screen I was focusing through. I think it is time for me to get a feeder for the back yard…
