Light on the Lines

I have been reading Light, Gesture & Color by Jay Maisel. To be honest, I did not know who this photographer was and only bought his book based on something I read in another book. I’m happy I took the chance. It is a wonderful book not filled with technical information or secrets about taking the best picture it is more about seeing, feeling and creating the image when it happens.

This image is partly a result of what I have been reading. Capture the image now! Don’t wait, don’t think you will return or that the scene will happen again. Use the camera when you are moved by what you see. I was fascinated by the sunset light reflecting off the power lines. I tried various images, some with cars more clearly in the view but I settled on this one. The light just worked for me…
