Turin, NY
I dropped my daughter off at work over in Rome this morning and decided to head up north to find Whittaker Falls. A friend at work told about this park and today was the perfect day to go on an adventure. I didn’t have to be back to pick her for 5 hours.
I packed both cameras in the car. Had the hiking boots ready to go. There was a beautiful sunrise and just enough clouds in the sky to make some interesting images. Of course, there also was plenty to see on the drive north.
Just a few miles south of my destination is Snow Ridge. I nice little ski resort nestled into the side of some hills on the west side of route 26. I couldn’t resist pulling the car over to capture the morning sun on the resort. I’ve never ventured up to this resort to ski but if I do pull the equipment out this year I might have to give it a try…

Looks like a ski resort even I could handle! 🙂
Nice! I imagine you have a lot of beautiful shots from that adventure – looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks Karma! I should have some more posted today.
Love the light in this one. And the sky. I’ve always wanted to ride a chair lift up to the top of a ski hill in summer…just to see what it looks like from up there. I thought I’d learn to ski sometime in my life…but approaching 60 I think perhaps it’s late now…so a summer ski lift ride sounds perfect.
Thanks Dawn! That light is what got me to pull over and grab the camera. I didn’t learn to ski until I was 40.
PS: I THINK we’re going to try to stop by the waterfall park on our way home from Quebec. We’ll see if it works out that way.
If you have the time it is a beautiful park. If you enter at Mt. Morris and work your way to the other end it would depend on your route but you could go south from the park and hit route 86 towards Erie.
