Monochrome Winter
Monochrome Monday
Bellamy Harbor Park
I’m going to make it easy on myself today. I’ll stick with the monochrome/B&W theme and show another monochrome winter image. As I was searching for doors yesterday, I did eventually stop at Bellamy Harbor Park. It wasn’t horrible out (as long as I walked with the wind). I managed to find a few scenes worth capturing.
I typically grab an image of this pavilion from the Mill St. bridge. The additional elevation allows me to incorporate more of the area around the pavilion. I chose not to go up to the bridge yesterday as I really did not want to deal with the wind. I know, I should be more brave… :)

I like to try different things. And I wouldn’t have gone up on the bridge in the wind either. I like black and white, I need to find more things that work well within those constraints. Or maybe lack of constraints.
Thanks Dawn. I go back and forth on doing the same thing a lot or trying new things. I should work on a better balance.
No need to fight bitter wind! Not worth it! I like the shot as a contrast for how we usually think of such places. Believe it or not, I have been on a winter picnic! It was rather cold, but memorable: my daughters, my dogs and some dear friends and I got out for a winter hike one sunny winter day. We brought simple snacks in our backpacks, but we called it a picnic when we stopped at a picnic table to eat and rest!
I found the proof – a picture from the day, but I can’t figure out how to post it!
I thought I figured it out but the WP editor will not let me paste the image. The only option is to link to a URL for the image. So the convoluted way would be to upload the image to your media section, get the direct link for the picture and then link it in this reply… whew, way too many steps. What the heck, it shouldn’t be this difficult.
My picture wasn’t that great anyway 😉
Thank you for taking the time to champion monochrome. Winter is a wonderful time to embrace the stark! 📸
Thank you. I’m definitely a fan of monochrome images.
