Flat Rock Park, Columbus, GA
Hello?
Is there anybody out there?
It’s me, the lost photographer.
Well, not physically lost, more like I lost my way. No, that isn’t quite right either. Lost my drive? Is that what this is? Probably.
Come on, be honest, you have been lethargic. Always easier to sit on your butt when you came home from work. And that was a slippery slope. Once started it went downhill fast!
Luckily, I had a really nice lunch this past weekend with a new friend and we talked about helping each other get out of the house. Exploring, walking trails, and finding out what this area has to offer. I look forward to this new outlook.
I went to Flat Rock Park after work yesterday. No big plan, just get out of the house. Walk. Explore. Photograph. You know, the stuff I used to do. I really liked this view and was losing the light quickly. I didn’t go back to the car for the tripod so I attempted doing this handheld. Not bad, if I do say so myself…

Glad to see you back to photography. I liked Flat Rock. There’s a pretty park in Auburn too, not all that far from Columbus. I’ll find the name.
Hi Dawn! Yes, I have been lethargic way too long. I would appreciate the park, as you said, Auburn is not that far.
Look up Town Creek Park. I took Katie there for walks. In the summer there are lots of turtles on the banks and swimming. It’s not a big park but I found some interesting things to photograph there. Plus of course there’s Auburn Univ there if you want to explore campus.
Awesome. Thank you Dawn. I go to Opelika often so jumping over to Auburn is easy. I’ll look it up.
Hi Mike! Nice to see you posting again! Glad you found a like-minded friend and decided to get back out there, especially now that winters are far less cold for you that’s one less excuse, lol. That’s the excuse I’m telling myself I’m using right now. This January has been bitter cold. I’ve been out for only two walks -one of which was socked in with fog and not picturesque.
I always enjoy your waterfall photography. Beautiful shot!
Thanks Karen. I do enjoy being out there with the camera, its getting myself there that has been the problem. Yeah, I’ve been watching the weather up North and I’m happy with my move… 🙂
