When I visit Callaway Gardens, I generally start my day at the Discovery Center. From the center, I can travel many paths visiting the various areas of the resort. My favorite destination is the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center. My results have been less than desirable over the past year, but I still visit not only for the butterflies but also for the flora.

On my last visit I timed my arrival to the butterflies perfectly. The facility had opened only minutes before I walked through the doors. There were barely any other visitors. It must have been a combination of the early hour and lack of people that kept the butterflies rather stationary. I walked away with quite a few keepers; just don’t ask me to tell you their names… 🙂
