Shade Me

Tree Tuesday
Flat Rock Park, Columbus, GA

I’ve probably rambled on about this more than anyone cares to listen, but when I was starting this journey with photography Google’s social network, Google+ (G+) was beginning. This network played no small part in the growth of my photography. One of the aspects I enjoyed, and truly miss, was the theme days.

A page or two in my notebook (the one I’m writing in this year, to my surprise) are about using themes to help me see better. And a small part of me is hoping to get others to join me in posting using these themes. I haven’t worked it all out in my head, but… today was/is #TreeTuesday (I’ll forego the hash tag format here).

  1. When i was in grad school, 2006-2008, at UMich, and riding the bus from campus back and forth to my car in the commuter lot I noticed one big old oak tree every day. Eventually I took my camera to school and got off the bus at a stop near the tree to get some shots. Then I walked the rest of the way to the car, a few miles, taking pictures of trees. I had a whole digital file called “trees” that began that day. Still love a good tree these days too.

      • I lost all those images in a transfer to a new computer years ago. Husband said he had them transferred and I could delete the images from where they were stored. And then it turns out he didn’t successfully get them transferred. He felt bad. I did too, but what are you going to do. I still remember them.
