Rising Lighthouse – Portfolio Blog
When I go to Walt Disney World it is not always about the theme parks. There are amazing areas throughout the property and some of the best theming occurs at the resorts. The first time I stayed at the Beach Club I fell in love with the Crescent Lake area. To this day I can still find enjoyment exploring around the lake. A particular favorite subject of my photography is the Yacht Club lighthouse. I can always capture a beautiful sunrise or sunset that includes this iconic structure. This is one of those sunrises…

Delta Lake State Park
After a week of not finding the time or the conditions didn’t lend themselves or blah, blah blah… I made it back out for some sunset images. I returned to my favorite state park, OK, maybe it is my favorite because it is 5 minutes away, but anyway, I got outside with the camera. There was some nice cloud cover but it was moving in fast. It became a race between the sun and the clouds. The clouds won by a narrow margin but I still was able to get a few images before they obscured the sunset.

Not every image needs to be grand. Not every image needs to tell the whole story. Sometimes, only a snippet of an image is needed to wake the mind and have it fill in the rest of the story. Sometimes, those images are the ones remembered as best…

Delta Lake State Park
I haven’t processed all the images I captured last Saturday while I was snowshoeing around Delta Lake State Park. So this morning I figured I should make an effort to do a few. Next to the beach area there is a small pond sandwiched in between the trails. The volume of water generally rises and falls with the level in the lake. With the clouds in the sky, the sun trying to poke its way through to my right and the frozen water I wanted to capture the entire scene from one of the ends of this area. I don’t have a super-wide lens but I do know how to capture images for a panorama. This image is a 10 shot panorama.
