Heart of the Beast

In The Shop – ITS08

One of the luxuries of working in a manufacturing environment, especially my shop, is that when it gets real cold we can open one of the box furnaces and steal some heat from it. During lunch yesterday I interrupted a few of the employees while they warmed their backsides to grab an image of the furnace. I really liked the contrast of the bricks near the opening and the glow from the heat inside.

Knurls and Divisions

In the Shop – ITS04

Another lunch spent exploring the shop with my camera. It is definitely helping me push through the day when everything else seems to be conspiring against me. This is from our gauge inspection room. I decided to go with a lomography look to help enhance the details of the knurling and divisions. It darkened the background and changed the overall color tone away from the bright yellows found in the room.
