Sunrise Dock

Kiwanis Park, Palm Bay, FL

I’m still cold! If it was only snow, then I would be OK, but this cold is really getting to me. I have to ride this out over the weekend and by Monday we will have rain. WTH? For now, here is another warm, Florida image to enjoy…

Reflections on Cocoa

Cocoa Beach, FL

OK, I’m tired of hearing about the polar vortex and I had to shovel the driveway this morning with a wind chill of -24F. I was only outside for twenty minutes but that was enough for me to want to remember a warmer time. I pulled up my pictures from the trip to Florida over Christmas and found this one that has a nice warm feel to it. I love the reflection of the sunrise in the windows of the restaurant on the pier…

Morning Blues

Bellamy Harbor Park, Rome, NY

From my living room window it appeared there was a slight chance I would see some sunrise colors near the horizon on Saturday morning. Due to the impending winter storm set to hit Upstate NY later in the day, my weekend routine was moved up by one day. Breakfast and groceries were on the agenda but I had a few minutes before they would start so I headed to Bellamy Harbor Park for that slight chance. It didn’t materialize but there were still a couple of images to capture…

Trail’s End

Taughannock Falls State Park

All the B&W processing I have been doing lately on my Disney pics had me wondering about a few of my old summer images from a trip to the state parks around Ithaca. I had posted a couple of images of Taughannock Falls after the trip but this particular view seemed to escape my notice. Maybe my current fascination with B&W images has also been fueled by my recent purchase of an Ansel Adams desk calendar… maybe?

Unstable

Delta Lake State Park

Although Saturday might have started a little rough as I watched the clouds win the race to the horizon and obscure my sunrise at Hinckley Reservoir, the day as a whole was wonderful. As sunset approached I debated as to which location would provide me the best view, Delta Lake or Bellamy Harbor Park. In the end, after considering the position of the sun at sunset, I chose to go to Delta Lake.

With the stretch of warmer weather we had experienced I did not expect to see as many people as there were out fishing on the lake. I’m not positive if I would have walked out onto the ice. I hugged the shoreline as I positioned myself to capture the setting sun along with some interesting cracks in the ice. Yeah, definitely sure I will not be walking on the ice any time soon.
