In The Yard – ITY45

Oh, you are so in trouble! If you thought I went overboard with the dandelions, wait until you see me with the daisies. I was standing in the kitchen working on my dinner when I noticed small white spots out in the pasture behind the house. At first I thought dandelions, but no, too white… daisies!

As soon as dinner was done I grabbed the camera with the macro lens and walked out into the field to find me some daisies. As luck would have it, even the wind died down for me. Mother Nature was obviously on my side or she is a fan of my daisy pictures. Either way, the hunt was on… and the summer of overloaded daisy pictures has begun.

Up and Over

Cascadilla Gorge Trail, Ithaca, NY

The first time I visited the Cascadilla Gorge Trail it was in the process of being renovated. This point in the trail was as far as you could hike as the stairs were being rebuilt. I didn’t think much of this location until my trip to Ithaca two weeks ago. I wanted to explore a different area rather than re-walk familiar ground… OK, I didn’t want to hike Robert Treman State Park. That hike always kills me. There I said it, are you happy?

Monorail Monday
Epcot, Walt Disney World

Although Epcot is full of places to explore with a camera, I always find myself chasing the monorails around Future World. I enjoy trying to find a different view to capture as the monorails glide along the beam. I don’t remember if I heard this from one of the numerous Disney photographers you can follow online but I have tried to stand by this saying… “if your picture is going to have the monorail beam in the view, there better be a monorail on it…”

Some of my monorail images are photos of luck. I happen to be in a particular location as the monorail is passing through. This image is one of those lucky images. I was on the bridge next to Test Track on my way toward the Odyssey when I heard a monorail approaching behind me. I had been admiring the flowers planted along the bank for the Flower & Garden Festival and quickly decided to go as wide as possible to include the vibrant colors. I also like the tree…
