Weekly Photo Theme – Power Lines

This week I borrowed one of the daily photo themes over on Google+ for our weekly theme. It is a theme I have contributed to in the past and it is a little different as far as subjects go. It is power lines, which can include telephone poles, but typically a subject we landscape photographers try to exclude from our images. Contributing to the theme on G+ has forced me to see those general intrusions as something different. There can be a beauty to these landscape eye sores when looked at as the subject of a composition. You should search Google+ for #PowerLineFriday to see what I am talking about.

Weekly Photo Theme – Stairs

Last week the object of our photographic exploration was stairs. They are everywhere so that should have been an easy task. Or so I thought at the start of the week. Some of my initial ideas did not pan out as access to the stairs I had in mind was blocked (at least for the view I had in my head). And then I tried to think of some unique stairs (like the tree root steps at Pixley Falls State Park, but that park is not open yet), so I struggled more than I thought I would.
