International Gateway Illuminations

International Gateway Entrance, Epcot

I watched Illuminations from the bridge between The Beach Club and Boardwalk resorts one night. Not a bad location to see the higher fireworks. I combined two images to create this picture. I had a long exposure of the scene before the show and then added in a shot of the fireworks.

Monorail Monday: Monorail Umbrella

Epcot, Walt Disney World

It probably isn’t a stretch to know that I love photographing the monorails when I am in Walt Disney World. It is now a challenge to discover unique compositions and in doing so it brings out the explorer in me. I stopped on one of the walkways between Future World and World Showcase one afternoon while in Epcot. The yellow and white umbrella was an interesting site from my vantage point sitting on a bench. I just had to wait for a monorail…

Liberty Belle Pano

Frontierland, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Walking around Tom Sawyer’s Island offers some interesting views of the Magic Kingdom. When the Liberty Belle returned to the dock I thought another picture of it would be great. I didn’t have my widest lens on the camera so I tried creating a panoramic by combining 5 images. I was a little worried about distortion but everything combined nicely.

Rocking Big Thunder

Tom Sawyer Island, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

During my trip in May of this year I discovered this location on Tom Sawyer Island overlooking Big Thunder Railroad. My capture at that time was not the best so I added it to my wish list for this latest trip. I think I went to this spot every visit to the Magic Kingdom trying for this picture. It wasn’t until one of my last attempts did I get everything the way I wanted it. It was worth the effort… 🙂

The Haunting of the River

Rivers of America, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

Disney started using fog machines during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. It definitely adds to the ‘spooky’ in some areas…
