It has been a long week. Saturday is here and I am going to enjoy the weekend.

I should be finalizing my packing for a trip to Florida this morning but those plans had to change. My youngest cat, Dunkin, wasn’t feeling well earlier this week. He basically didn’t eat for four days. The vet couldn’t find any problems and she gave him some fluids on Wednesday. Friday evening I think he final passed what was causing him discomfort (I think he might have ate something). Anyway, late Thursday I decided to postpone the trip. It figures he would turn the corner for the better after I made that decision… 🙂

I’m glad he is feeling better and eating normally again. I can now plan my do-over trip.

I also started working different hours this week. The company wanted to have engineering coverage at the end of third shift and the beginning of second. I’m always up early and quickly volunteered to come in at 5am. Being able to get out of work at 1:30pm now that the weather is improving… hell yeah, sign me up! I’m not sure how long this will last as the first week didn’t show a “need”, at least not as great as I think the company believes. We’ll see, I’ll stay on this ride as long as they let me.

So, coming home Friday afternoon I noticed quite a few dandelions in the yard. I couldn’t resist those white puff balls. I crawled around in the grass capturing their good (and bad) sides. I really liked this pair…

The day started off rather cold, somewhere around 25F but as the day progressed the sun worked its magic and by mid-afternoon the temps were at 55F. Definitely time for a walk. I haven’t been out for a walk in quite some time (longer than I care to mention). The Sculpture Garden trails were calling me. As I approached the main parking area I found I was not alone in my desire to enjoy the afternoon warmth. Luckily for me I know where the second parking area is at the opposite end of the trails.

The photo opportunities were a little slim but I enjoyed the walk regardless. Surprisingly, most of the people were enjoying the disc golf course which left the trails fairly people free. I was surprised to find a few small dandelions in the grass along the paths. You know me, I couldn’t resist…

During my trip to Walt Disney World I averaged roughly 27,000 steps each day. At least that is what my watch recorded. On a busy day at work, one where I’m on the shop floor constantly, I might average 12,000 steps. Sunday I decided to attempt to keep the record going. After the chores where all done, i.e., laundry and groceries, I headed over to the Sculpture Park on the old air base. I didn’t even come close, at the end of the day I had about 10,000 steps.

There is a bright side though, it turned into a dandelion day! Frequent readers know that dandelions are a favorite subject for my macro lens. I found a few more subjects to point the camera at but most of the walk was spent capturing dandelions. It was a great day!
