Floral, Daisy
Another great day for a walk. I was on the hunt for more daisies. Living in the city has actually increased my opportunities to go for walk. I would not have assumed it to be true. But it has definitely helped me search out more floral images.
My walk did not end as I had hoped. I finished up in a large section of daisies and started my walk back toward the apartment. I had noticed that my 60mm macro lens was having difficulty with the auto focus. I didn’t think too much about it and assumed it was either my unsteady hand or the breeze pushing the daisies around which was causing the issue.
I had not walked very far when I spotted another daisy along the sidewalk. When I turned the camera back on I received this message through the viewfinder, “Please check the status of the lens.” This message generally appears with Olympus lenses that need to be extended to be used. My macro lens does not. I removed the lens, checked the contacts, but nothing I did in the field made a difference. It would have to wait until I was back home.
After more cleaning and investigating, using other cameras, I decided the lens is in need of repair. I made the necessary arrangements with the Olympus repair center and today I get to ship it off for an evaluation. Hopefully it is only a minor problem. That lens is a well used favorite, I’ll have to get creative to capture my floral images until it returns…

It is a contest with no winner… which is my favorite subject, dandelions or daisies. My answer will change depending on how good that last capture of either turned out. Today, I would have to answer daisy…

Oh, you might have survived this year’s dandelion phase but now the daisies are here!
Mid-morning yesterday I drove over to the Mohawk River trail parking area in the Griffiss Industrial Park to explore any new blossoms. I had spotted some new additions while driving back from the grocery store Friday evening and wanted to get out of the apartment before the weather turned. Much to my surprise, one whole bank along the trail was covered in daisies. I will apologize now…
