In The Yard – ITY77 The Little Things – TLT014 Floral Friday
Normally you hear the saying ‘can’t see the forest for the trees’ when you’re keeping your head down focused on the immediate stuff in front of you. I’ve been so focused on the big stuff lately I’m experiencing the opposite. I’ve been working with a financial planner to ensure I’m setup for retirement. I was planning my trip to Florida and I’ve been working on how to explore all my new home state has to offer.
I neglected to look out the window…
The small azaleas next to my window are blooming. The spiraea shrubs along the split rail fence around the apartment complex have also blossomed. The little things need attention too…

I thought with the coming weather this weekend it would be nice to see some color (also, because of the B&W yesterday). I’m hoping the camellia garden doesn’t get hit too hard by the weather. The Camellia Fest is a couple weeks away and I’m looking forward to exploring the floral goodness.

You don’t know what you don’t know. Last year I missed the camellia season. Thankfully, due to my membership with the botanical garden I received a newsletter explaining all the upcoming events surrounding camellias. To be honest, I stole the title for this post from the garden’s newsletter. I’ll let the experts explain… Winter in Bloom.
I have been busy adding each opportunity to my calendar. This year I want to explore it all. Last year I happened upon the tail end of the camellia season. This image is from an April visit…
