Sunday morning was just a great autumn day. I had to stop into work early but by 8am I was walking along the barge canal with the camera. I tried something a little different yesterday. I used one lens on the walk out and then switched to the 8mm fish-eye lens for the return trip. I wanted to try ‘seeing’ differently with that big wide angle lens. I actually captured a few interesting views. This crawler excavator turned out to be one of my favorites.

Wordless Wednesday – Pulling Me Gently

This week over at A Word in Your Ear the Word a Week Challenge is all about industrial images. You can check out the original post here AWAWC: Industrial. My intent was to get out and capture a few new images but once again work and the weather have made that a challenge unto itself. Hopefully, a recycling of a few images from July 2012 will not offend anyone.
I had been driving past each of these buildings/structures for years and when I caught the photography fever I always wanted to capture them in the early morning light. I was fortunate enough one morning in July to get the sunrise I was looking for and the time to visit each location. I was very happy with how each image turned out and have been keeping my eye open for additional subjects, but surprisingly it isn’t as easy as I thought. I keep looking though…

This morning I set out with a purpose. I have been wanting to capture some of the industrial and abandoned structures I pass almost every day. Rather than go out looking for the beautiful sunrise or capture some floral macros I drove around to all the sites on my list trying to catch them in the early morning light.
