An early morning drive toward the rising sun let me find this view along the road. I’m getting pretty good at quick 3-point turns! I had to capture the colors of the sunrise in the clouds and the dark tones of the hills.

Storm Front Sunset
I got out of work a few minutes late last night and was greeted with a beautiful sunset as I walked out the door. My head was racing for a location I could capture this from before it was gone. I jumped in the car and started driving toward the sun. Nothing was coming to mind and the sun was disappearing fast. I found a back road with a field and some trees. A quick 3-point turn and I pulled off into the field. I wish I had something better in the foreground but those colors were not to be missed.

Canal Before Breakfast
Barge Canal
I listened to that little voice again. The one that tells me to stop and grab the picture. I was on my way to breakfast before groceries and the sun was just starting to peek around the clouds after sunrise. I knew the view down the canal would be worth a stop. The rumbling in the tummy could wait a few minutes. I detoured down to the canal where the bridge support in the water is accessible by climbing over a stone bridge built by some kids. The calm waters provided some nice reflections.

Rocking Big Thunder
Tom Sawyer Island, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
During my trip in May of this year I discovered this location on Tom Sawyer Island overlooking Big Thunder Railroad. My capture at that time was not the best so I added it to my wish list for this latest trip. I think I went to this spot every visit to the Magic Kingdom trying for this picture. It wasn’t until one of my last attempts did I get everything the way I wanted it. It was worth the effort… 🙂
