My normal section of the sculpture garden did not disappoint me. There were plenty of interesting subjects but I spent a good portion of my time chasing a few butterflies. Don’t let the slow wing flap as they sit fool you… they can be slippery to photograph.
My first few captures were not worth sharing. Luckily, I was less interesting than getting lunch and this one sat still long enough for me to do my thing…

I realized today I’ve been silent for quite some time on this blog. It has been almost a month since I added words of any length to my posts. I’m unsure if it is because I’m lazy or I truly haven’t had anything to say. Putting a little truthful thought to it, I would say it is a little of both.
My daughter came for a visit on Father’s day. She hitched a ride with her mom so she could sort through all the stuff I have been storing here. She did a great job. I have been slowly donating what I can of the stuff she decided she no longer needed. I won’t mention the twelve storage containers in my garage and a whole closet in the second bedroom which have now been set free… LOL
I pulled the trigger on a lens(es) I have been looking at for a little while now. I loving my macro lens and want to get a little more creative (or at least try) with my macros. Lensbaby makes quite a few “creative” lenses and they are currently having a sale (can’t pass up a sale, right?). I purchased the soft focus optic swap macro kit. It comes with two interchangeable 50mm lenses, one, the Sweet 50 and the other, the Soft Focus II. They should arrive early next week. I’m looking forward to playing with both of these…
Before the temps jumped into the mid 80’s today I went for a walk at the Sculpture Garden. I have been waiting for more flowers to bloom and I was rewarded with numerous subjects for my lens. I could say I went on a 90 minute walk but most of that was stopping and focusing on every little detail that caught my eye. If I walked a mile I would be lucky… 🙂
