Summer always brings me back to the dandelions. There is something about the intricacies of the seeds and the shapes that are created that fascinate me. It doesn’t hurt that my yard is always full. I gave up a long time ago trying to remove them, now I just live with them.

Possibly this is a side effect of me watching Spartacus on Netflix but today is the Ides of March. Not only known as the day Julius Caesar was assassinated and famously quoted in Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, it was the start of the ancient Roman year. So today I choose to look back at the start of my photography journey. Not all the way to the start but back to March 2012 when I purchased my first DSLR.
