Crescent Lake, Walt Disney World
Barge Canal near the Utica Marsh
The other night when I went to the Utica Marsh for the sunset I ended up walking along the barge trail waiting for the sun to get into position. There is a lot of scenery to view along the trail but I am always drawn to the bridges, especially when there is such a great reflection on calm waters.
Rome, NY
My intent was to go to Bellamy Harbor Park last night to catch the sunset. I did get to the park but I wasn’t awe struck by the scene. I might have captured a few good images, we’ll have to see what I find when I review the images.
I did find pass a cool looking scene as I was driving home. Due to the amount of rain we have had there are puddles of water everywhere. I passed this old factory (now the home of American Metal Stamping & Spinning) and the reflection of the sign immediately caught my eye. I turned the car at the very next left and found a parking spot across the street.
My tripod legs can be flattened, allowing me to get my camera almost on the ground. With this configuration and placing everything next to the puddle allowed me to capture this great reflection. I liked the portrait orientaion better due to being able to get the whole lamp post in scene.
Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
I am always looking for new ways to photograph the parks when I visit Walt Disney World. I’m not sure I would have ‘seen’ this image if my friend Joanie hadn’t been helping me ‘see’ unique patterns in a few of my latest images. With those other images I have been cropping out a section of a much larger image to create the pattern image.
This image isn’t exactly the same as the images I have been creating (a post will follow soon), but the interesting view is a result of my recent ‘training’. For this image I specifically captured what I wanted to create. This is what I imagine a peek through the looking glass would be like…
