My original intent was to capture a view of the Niagara River with the wonderfully turbulent flow. I liked the lamp post that just turned on as I was walking toward the falls and thought this would be a nice image. There were too many people enjoying the park that night and my plan for a people free image were dwindling.
But then I thought it would be a better image if I included the people. It was late, getting dark and I would be using close to a 1 second shutter so the blurred movement of the people would go with the movement energy of the river.
At least that was my thought…

In my limited experience in working with long shutter speeds on people, I know it’s not easy to judge the right length without losing the people altogether. This looks pretty good to me.
Thanks Stephen. It did take a few tries as people kept stopping and going. 🙂
I like the way you’ve been experimenting lately.
Thanks! Me too! I’m having a lot of fun.
I like the effect !
🙂 It turned as I had hoped!
