As I was heading back to the car after an hour of exploring at Delta Lake the other day I noticed a pair of ice fishermen walking back to the beach. They are those small dots above the picnic table. lol I only had the 35mm lens on the camera but I like the view that lens captures with my camera.
I went a slightly different direction with the processing for this image. I chose to use a high key look which would accentuate the shadows and wash out portions of the sky. I think it really adds to the cold feel of this one.

Brrrrrrr! Again!!! I cannot imagine ice fishing. So foreign to me.
I know, enough with the cold winter images, but at the moment that is all I have up here in the north. 🙂
It is always the way isn’t it Mike when we need another lens. I agree with you in that the 35mm has worked well in this landscape image, providing us with a really “cold” expanse. Hope you have a great year, one filled with joy, happiness and good health
Regards, james
Thanks James! Some days I’m just a little lazy and leave the backpack full of equipment in the car. 😉 Wishing you the best in this new year!
I know what you mean Mike, but as I do at lot of walking I cannot really afford to leave kit behind. But the poor back does suffer on occassions
Great. I like the tones of the sky in relation to the snow.
Thanks! It was an interesting day, almost monochrome without any help from me. 😉
A really beautiful image Mike. I love the bluish grey color and the high key look. I’ve been trying high key too on some of my images and I really love that look.
Thanks Jocelyne! I’m starting to learn when to use high key to my advantage. This one was a little easier to see.
