At the Start

Robert H. Treman State Park

Although the lower section of Robert H. Treman park near the swimming area was closed due to repair the upper section of the park still provides wonderful opportunities for images. I’ve photographed the start of the gorge trail many times but have never been happy with the results. This visit I was able to get a look at the narrow chute into the gorge from both directions.

  1. I’ve probably asked this of you before…but are you using Lightroom or Photoshop or something else? Or both? I just got a new laptop, and I was using a very old version of Lightroom on the old laptop. Don’t even know if I’ll be able to transfer it over to this device. Wondering if I should take this opportunity to upgrade to something more current. I don’t think I want to pay them to store my pictures in the cloud. If I quit the subscription would I lose access to my pictures? Would I be held hostage? I don’t know…I think there’s a version of the current Lightroom where you keep your own storage. I think they’re all monthly subscription now though, right?

    • Yes, only monthly subscriptions. I use Lightroom Classic which does not force you to store your photos in the cloud. I also use Photoshop and my favorite app for finishing touches is Luminar 4 from Skylum Software. Adobe’s photography plan is 9.99 a month for both Lightroom and Photoshop. No have tried other programs for organizing my pictures but Lightroom is the best for me right now. Besides Luminar there is also On1 Photo Raw which does a pretty good job too.
