At the End

Floral, Macro, Midday

For late September, the past few days have been fantastic. Temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s with plenty of sun. I decided to work half a day on Friday and went for another midday walk along the trails in Griffiss International Sculpture Garden. My thought, besides getting some exercise, was to capture both late season flowers and early autumn colors. It is definitely early for the full autumn colors but it was the right time for the flowers. As much as I like capturing flowers in full bloom, I am fascinated by the look of flowers past their prime. This black-eyed susan was defiant against the call of autumn.
