Autumn in the Water

Beaver Lake Nature Center

I hadn’t planned on going down the section of trail I ended up on while exploring the Bog Trail at Beaver Lake Nature Center. There were a few people coming down the trail towards me and I took a turn to allow them to pass. I’m happy this happened. Otherwise, I would not have found the observation platform hidden in the bog at the edge of the lake. The view was perfect on a sunny day. The colors of the leaves across the lake, the reflection, the leaves in the water, all great layers combining into a beautiful view. I stood there enjoying this for quite a while…

  1. That’s how I got a red bellied woodpecker to land on my hand, by turning down an unknown path to avoid people. Otherwise I’d never have run into that bird and had that personal experience. Unplanned turns are often so special.
