Callaway Resort & Gardens
Although I had spent two Thursdays in a row at Callaway Gardens, I needed to go back on Halloween. I wanted to renew my season pass and based on all the emails the garden kept sending me, the price was going up on November 1st. It was my own fault I missed the extra special renewal price earlier in the summer (we won’t go into that fiasco) so I was determined not to miss this deadline.
The weather for the weekend was starting to turn toward the predicted rain on Sunday but I didn’t think a little overcast sky would ruin my trip. By the time I renewed my pass, parked the car and began my exploration the sun was attempting to make its presence known.
We all know I am a creature of habit and my first stop was the Overlook Azalea Garden. I was not expecting to find many subjects for my macro lens but color in the trees and water for reflections is a homing beacon for me. My first image always seems to be the curved bridge over Mountain Creek Lake.
If you zoom in, you can faintly make out the golfers teeing off…

Although I have a few more images with autumn color, I’ll follow the saying generally attributed to P.T. Barnum and “Always leave them wanting more”…
I like this image a lot. I like the color of the building on the right reflected in a similar color on the trees on the left. That’s what caught my eye first. The golfers were cool too.
