Through the Glass – TTG01
Saturday was supposed to have occasional rain. I read that as there would be some good cloud representation in the sky for the sunrise. It also meant I could put off doing the laundry for a day, but that is a different story. I hadn’t been up to Hinckley Reservoir in a couple of months. I wasn’t positive there would be anything worth photographing but it isn’t far and definitely worth the drive. Bellamy Harbor Park, Rome, NY
I’m sure a big portion of my reasons for always going to Bellamy Harbor Park is the distance from my house. I can be here in fifteen minutes. But, it is also a great location for sunrise/sunset images as the canal is aligned East to West and as the sun traverses the seasons it will rise/set in different areas of the park. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that I’m a fan of water, reflections and silhouettes in my images…

The weather forecast was predicting rain for Sunday. I figured the clouds needed to start rolling in and was hoping they would make an appearance before sunset. Mother Nature did not disappoint me. I had an idea for a sunset image utilizing the Lensball and Delta Lake State Park was the best place to try it out. I was hoping for a little calmer waters but the gentle roll of waves coming to shore was not overwhelming. I had to be quick with the camera if I wanted a low enough angle. It worked out…
