Silent Sunday
Old Erie Canal Park, DeWitt, NY
Yes, I am back to the dang aqueduct around the corner from work. How can I not go when the weather is perfect? Lunch did not come soon enough on Friday. It wasn’t that work was difficult, it was everything all at once. Being pulled in 10 different directions makes it hard to complete anything. Eventually you scream, “Stop!”, and take a breath. Gather your thoughts. Prioritize. Knock the tasks off one at time.
My stop and take a breath was a trip during lunch to the Old Erie Canal Park. I had blue skies, puffy white clouds, green leaves on the trees and running water. I was in my happy place… 🙂
Disneyland
I wouldn’t say it was my favorite area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World but I did enjoy Mickey’s Toontown Fair. It was a little sad to see it go when New Fantasyland was created and along with it came Storybook Circus. I enjoy photographing both of those areas but I miss the dedicated places for the Fab Five.
Disneyland still has Mickey’s Toontown. I knew I would be stopping there to not only explore but see the differences to what I use to enjoy at WDW. It was so cool! Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a favorite movie of mine. It was great to see characters from that film in Toontown. I also enjoyed the different settings for each character as well as the whole feel of the place. I was running around snapping as many pics as I could.
Here are a few of my favorites…
Disneyland
This past week I spent in California for work. I know, it was a great sacrifice, but I did it for the good of the company. One of my suppliers was ready to ship an item and I needed to inspect it before I would OK the shipment.
I was out to this same supplier about a month ago for an in-process inspection. I felt I knew my way around the area (LA suburbs) and was ready for some adventure. At the last minute I found out my program manager was making the same trip but would only be there a couple of days. My plans had to be modified. It all worked out.
By Wednesday I was on my own and decided it was time for me to visit Disneyland! I have never visited the original park built by Walt. I have ready plenty of books. I knew going in it was on a smaller scale compared to Walt Disney World. My only problem once I arrived… it was Grad Nite. The event was going to start at California Adventure at 10pm but ticket holders could visit either park all day. To say the park was crowded would be an understatement.
It didn’t matter! I was at Disneyland! There was no opportunities to ride any attractions. The wait times were pushing over an hour for most and almost two hours for the popular attractions. It didn’t matter! I walked around the park exploring every nook and cranny at least twice.
There will be pictures. A lot more pictures. Today is a picture of it’s a small world. The original. The one with the beautiful Mary Blair entrance. Once the sun set, the attraction was even better to look at…
