Big Brook Creek

I figured this weekend was the last hurrah for autumn colors. According to the foliage map most of NY State was near peak or beyond. Saturday morning was spent exploring a few state parks and the same plan was in affect for Sunday. The amount of fog threw me off Sunday morning. It put a short damper on my pans although I suppose it would have been worth the drive a little later in the morning.

I ended up following my morning routine for a Sunday with the breakfast and grocery route. Once that was done I spent a few hours at the house painting. By noon the sun was shining bright and the urge to capture more colors overtook me. I headed North along route 46 to hit my favorite section of Big Brook Creek along with Pixley Falls State Park. Both provided me the autumn colors I was looking to capture.

In Big Brook Creek I found a few pools of water to play with reflections. At first, it was straight up finding the best angle to place the camera and search out an interesting foreground subject. But once I brought out the Lensball, the concept of autumn colors in reflection jumped up a level. Here is the best one I found…
