Confluence

Cooper Creek Park, Columbus, GA

I will confess I snuck out of the apartment to get a Chick-fil-a chicken biscuit for breakfast. I know! Not the best choice, but I’m weak.

Anyway…

I noticed a little haze in the sky and thought maybe there would be some moody images at Cooper Creek Park. Once my indulgence was properly consumed I ran back home and grabbed the camera. What a great decision!

The park was fairly empty except for all the water fowl. I spent an hour photographing everyone (birds) I could find. It was so much fun! I get it now! I’m trying to stop myself from looking for a lens with a little more range (my current long lens tops out at 300mm). So, fair warning, there will be a plethora of bird images incoming. For now, I processed this one first…

  1. As I’m reading this I’m smiling. First, at the chicken sandwich. We didn’t have Chic-fa-le (I don’t even know how to spell it) up here until pretty recently. And then my husband was in a hospital down in Detroit and down in the hospital lobby was a Chic-fil-A and I had the basic chicken sandwich and it was the BEST chicken sandwich I’d ever had. There’s still not one near me which is a good thing.

And then I’m really smiling when I read you get it. Yep. You’re hooked now. You’re gonna want that 600m prime. The one that’s 15K. I don’t think it ever goes on sale. And at that price, what is a sale anyway? 12K? LOL

    Love your goose image.

  2. Like Dawn, I also smiled at the “I get it now”. I’m far from being a good bird photographer, but I do enjoy those moments when I get them. Since I use a crop sensor camera, my 100-400 is really a 160-640mm view, but its only f8, so fairly bright conditions are necessary. I’m itching to get out and about. April break is two weeks away! In the meantime I’ll enjoy your work.
